As a caring, responsible and ethical dog owner and breeder, I have completed the Animal Care College "Advanced Diploma in Canine Care" and I am pleased to say that I achieved straight 'A' Grades for each unit & therefore passed with Distinction (the highest grade obtainable).

Advanced Care & Management:

  • Physical care of dogs from birth through to old age
  • Growth and development from birth to old age
  • Canine behaviour and body language
  • Canine mental development, socialisation and play
  • Boarding kennels (kennel management)

Advanced Health Care:

  • General health care
  • Canine infectious diseases and vaccination
  • Preventative medicine
  • Spaying and neutering
  • Poisons
  • Environmental dangers
  • Alleviation of hereditary defects and diseases
  • Homeopathy, flower remedies, osteopathy and chiropractic
  • Common ailments including treatment
  • First Aid and emergency treatment
  • Whelping

Advanced Nutrition:

  • The digestive system
  • Dogs internal organs (functions)
  • Nutritional requirements of dogs from birth through to adulthood and old age
  • Feeding methods and nutrition - including BARF & commercial diets
  • Special dietary requirement for sick animals
  • Feeding the pregnant and lactating bitch
  • Feeding the sick or convalescent animal
  • Special needs of the veteran dog
