The Owner's Comment page has been provided at the request of many of the people who own Powerscourt dogs, and wanted an opportunity to share their experiences of owning one of our “babies.”

Hi Chris
It is almost a year since we became the proud owners of Maddie (Powerscourt Sparkler) and what a lovely year we have had!
With beautiful markings, she is admired wherever we go. Maddie has a superb temperament, is friendly, inquisitive and full of fun. She loves her soft toys, sticks and has a predilection for socks which she seems to be able to sniff out (clean or dirty) at some considerable distance!
She has been a delight to train, passing her Puppy, Bronze and Silver KCGC Awards in quick succession. We are now working on the Gold and start agility in the New Year.
Chris's dedication to her dogs and the welfare of their puppies is paramount.
It is wonderful to see Maddie with her head and tail in the air patrolling the garden.
She has brought us much happiness this year, Chris, and we thank you for allowing us to become part of the Powerscourt family.
Love Lesley. X

Hi Chris,
Freddy has settled in really well. He's had his first mini grooming session this morning, which he accepted without any fuss - including ear and teeth inspection and a little trim of his feet! He didn't need it but I thought best to get him used to me doing this. We all adore him he's so endearing and very clever- he was answering to his name by the time we got home and today has been asking to go into the garden to toilet!
I can't tell you how lucky we feel to have our darling little lad and we will do our absolute best to keep up the good work you've clearly started with him. I will keep in touch and send photos as he grows.
Love Kim
PS I don't know if I mentioned this to you but Gunnar's mum was Swedish, so Freddy's new 'brother and sisters' have Swedish ancestry too, what a lovely coincidence!

Hi Chris,
Another year has flown by and my girls and boy continue to be my best friends forever. KT still insists on organising me, collecting things I have left in Alfie Monsters reach and carrying them around, walking behind me till I realise what she's doing. Meggie is still in charge, at least of Alfie Monster, who obeys her every warning growl. KT of course being a sister tends to stare at her then carry on doing whatever she was doing, with a "she's on one again mum" look. When we came to the picnic I was so proud of them, 3 dogs staying in a strange house, they of course, never put a paw wrong and we have been invited back next year.
Everyone who comes into contact with my little pack of Powerscourt's goes away happier for meeting them, but then we know why don't we-----Its ALL in the Breeding.
Thanks Chris for my BFF's, Di

Hi Chris,
Maisie saw the vet tonight and everyone there was adoring of her. One woman thought Jim was holding a stuffed toy as she laid so still and quiet in his arms, it wasn't until she came closer that she realised she was real (not sure what she thought we were doing at the vets without an animal?) Maisie was very sweet and lapped up the attention. The vet was highly impressed with Chris's "very professional records and information" provided and commented on what a healthy, happy and well bred puppy Maisie is. She took absolutely no notice of the vet vaccinating her and was quite content to sit on the examination table taking in the surroundings.
The vet thought she was "remarkable" in being toilet trained to this degree already - as I pointed out she does come from an excellent breeder where investment in training has already begun before coming to us. It came as no surprise to us that Maisie was given a clean bill of health and once again we were left feeling very "Proud to be Powerscourter's".
Chris, she is another credit to your dedicating and careful breeding and rearing. Thank you xx

Hi Chris,
I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that Brooke was been wonderful since arriving home. She has eaten well, is using her crate without any hesitation and has done all her 'business' in the garden every time. At one point whilst I was watching her in the kitchen, she went up to the back door and let out a cry - to then go to the toilet outside shortly afterwards. She seems to be responding to her name already too.
I thought you might like to know that the afternoon and evening had gone so well and Brooke is currently fast asleep in her crate snuggled into her koala.
I will let you know tomorrow how her first night went. I have downloaded your Care Guide, so I am about to sit down with that - along with a cup of tea and do some reading.
Thank you again Chris.
Best Wishes, Sue X

Hi Chris,
Henry is having a lovely day, and has been introduced to his collar, which has left him totally unconcerned, so we have left it on him. He seems to have latched on to his crate being his own little place, and at one point left the garden, where he was playing and sunbathing with us, to go and have a sleep in his crate. Better still, on waking, he came outside to do a tiddle, and received lots of praise!
Baby Bradley (13 months) and Henry continue their mutual admiration, and both seem naturally considerate of each other, being remarkably gentle.
Henry is a credit to you, and seems totally at ease with his new surroundings and family, which we find quite remarkable given that he has undergone a massive change in his circumstances. we will continue to keep you up to speed, and, knowing that you must be rather busy(!) at the moment, won't be offended if you are too tired or busy to find time to reply. Suffice it to say, you have given us a delightful pup, happy, healthy and chunky, and since we saw the pups a while ago, we knew that not having a choice was never going to be a problem, as the whole litter were all a credit to your breeding and rearing skills.
Regards,
Roger & Dorothy

Both Lyn and myself are truly sorry for the loss of Rosie, we only met her the once but took a great shine to her. That's the biggest problem owning beautiful dogs is coping with the heartbreak when they have to leave us. xx

It's just over three months since Phoebe Powerscourt See Me Sparkle came into our lives and she's certainly living up to her name. She has a lovely temperament, is fun to be with and incredibly quick to learn.
She's also a stunning looking dog and is admired wherever we go. Mind you, from my experience that's perfectly normal when you have a Powerscourt dog!
Phoebe's 'Uncle' Toby has helped her with her social skills and she is very respectful but friendly when meeting other dogs. I'm sure we're all going to have lots of fun together and hopefully many happy years.
Thanks again Chris for putting a little 'sparkle' in our lives. Love Belinda x

Well I'm so sorry it's taken me this long, but I'm finally sending you some photos of our lovely boy! It's just been one of those jobs I've been meaning to do for, well, a year now!! But finally, I've have persuaded him to sit still for long enough for me to take some piccies of them!! Hope you like them.......
He is just such an adorable boy. We are so taken with him! And that is all the family too! The 1st thing the children say when we've been out anywhere is "Lets go and see Georgie!" They absolutely love him, and they play lovely together! He is a true cocker and loves to be exactly where we are and as close as he can possibly get!
Thank you so much again Chris! We get so many lovely comments from other people about what a lovely boy he is! The lady who grooms him thinks he is just so special! She breeds herself and just raves about him! I think that we will eventually have another from you, if that's OK, when we are in our own house, as we would love to get him a friend and have another one just like George.....watch this space!!
Love Sue x

Hi Chris, here is our end of year report for KT, Meggie and Alfie,
This year KT has passed her Gold K/C, a K9 CSI course tracking and identifying specific scents, entered her first agility comp came 5th out of 38, ridden in a dog cart pulled by her Leonburger friend and done 4 or 5 agility displays at local fetes.
Meggie has passed Bronze and Silver K/C awards, A K9 CSI course, started agility again and been on Fozzie's dog cart. She has also appeared at various fetes and won some classes.
Alfie has shown his Powerscourt side and as well as now having Bronze Silver and Gold K/C awards plus his K9 CSI pass he has won rosettes at fetes and with KT has appeared in various agility displays he is now enjoying Rally-o and is competing in his 2nd Agility comp in September.
As well as all this the gang have had fun chasing around the local woods most days and enjoy lots of cuddles every night. To anyone who thinks that these little marvels are just pretty to look at think again, they can do whatever you have the energy to teach them.

Hi all,
It’s Ethan Vowles, owner of Maize. Just an update, she was 5 on the 11th July and is an absolutely adorable dog and a pleasure to own in my opinion. She loves having a long walk, talking 5-10 miles say three times a week. I’ll update you all again soon. Bye for now, Ethan, Ronan, Mandie and Maize X

Hi Chris,
Having just spent a lovely hour in the garden with all 3 of our cockers, thought it was a good time to post something as a proud owner of 2 Powerscourter's. Our boys are just so wonderful. They have a great sense of fun, have wonderful personalities are soooo good natured. They love socialising and are a joy to own. It's all thanks to the hard work and dedication of their Mother Chris and and her family. Thank you Chris.

Hi Chris,
Just to keep you informed that Powerscourt Likea Whisper (Daisy Duke) is doing very well, she will be two years old tomorrow.
She is an absolute darling bitch to own. She has replaced the 12 year old King Charles Cavalier Giggsy we sadly lost.
Hope you are well, regards Angela.

Hi Chris,
It is now a week since we brought home our second Powerscourt puppy - 'Little Ted' we can honestly say he is a superb puppy, very well balanced in every respect. It was great to be able to get to know not only his parents but also grandparents, all wonderful, gentle, merry cockers.
Our thanks go to Chris for all her hard work and dedication in the care and love she gives to each and everyone of her pups. Our little man has certainly been welcomed into 'the fold'. Thanks Chris for entrusting him to us, we will cherish him just as we do our girl 'Lottie'.

Hi Chris,
While out walking Dudley yesterday, a lady in a wheelchair was fussing Dudley to which he responding very gently and the lady asked if Dudley could sit on her lap which he did. She gave him so much praise and fuss and said what a loving and gentle dog we have which made us very proud. I must say he really did keep up the Powerscourt name. Well done Duds!

Hi Chris,
It is now nearly a year since we took Morgan home with us. At the time we were a little worried, that, with being an older puppy, he wouldn't settle with us. However these worries proved to be completely unfounded. To say that he is wonderful is an understatement, he has enriched our lives more than we could ever say.
He is still the nosiest dog that I have ever met as well and if there is only one muddy puddle Morgan can find it.
People comment how beautiful he is and yesterday some-one stopped their car to comment. All this is thanks to you for both your breeding skills and the excellent start in life that you give your dogs.
Thank you again, Best wishes, Carol and John

Hi Chris,
Just where does the time go? So very, very sad to learn of Amy's passing. It brought a tear to my eye. With Murphy her son on my lap we looked through her pictures whilst Murph licked the tears from my face and we realised what a wonderful and long life she had. Dave and I are so lucky to have a part of Amy with us.
Very shocked to hear of Felix too. Sam, Felix's brother is doing very well and is a constant source of support - and amusement - to both Dave's parents. Murphy and Harry can't wait until each Sunday when they all get together and 'scrap' over who can reach the furthest into the dishwasher to lick the dishes after Sunday dinner!
Take good care and kisses to all, Katherine

Thank you SO much for all your support recently after we lost our beloved Stan. I have spent a lot of time looking at your website over the past few days. It's an amazing source of info and all your dogs are beautiful. You do an incredible job, Chris, and each and every one of your dog babies are a real credit to you.
