Powerscourt Cocker Spaniels - Puppy Information

We only have a small number of litters each year & therefore do not have puppies constantly available. Please check our "Planned Litters" page for more information. We also occasionally have older pups/young adults looking for suitable homes; please check our "Adults Available" page for more details.

As part of our commitment to the health of our puppies and the breed in general, our puppies have parent's who are health screened for:-

	GPRA & Glaucoma - KC/BVA Scheme
	Hip Scored - KC/BVA Scheme
	prcd-PRA - OptiGen DNA test
	Familial Nephropathy - OptiGen/Antagene DNA test

For more information about each test please click on the links above. We are pleased to say that all puppies bred at Powerscourt will be unaffected with either prcd-PRA or FN.

All our 'babies' are regularly played with & handled by us & our children & their friends. We also take our babies out in the car on several occasions to help them become accustomed to car journeys. They are born & reared in a busy household & are comfortable with all the usual household noises! Our puppies also get ample opportunity to play with our adult dogs, this gives them every chance to learn "doggie" skills.

We aim to have a litter when we wish to keep a puppy for ourselves & the remainder of the litter are placed in loving family homes. Accordingly, we do not have puppies available all year round - potential owners must be patient. Please note we do not keep a waiting list until we actually have puppies available.

We are dedicated & responsible Kennel Club Accredited breeders who aim to provide owner's with a healthy, well socialised, quality parti-coloured puppy that they should have many years of enjoyment from.

Powerscourt Cocker Spaniels - Puppy Not For Sale!

When we do have puppies available, we aim to ensure that they go to permanent, loving homes where the owners have the time & commitment to offer to a lively new member of the family.

Before the puppy leaves our home, it has been loved, well cared for & socialised . The puppy does not go to its new owner as a trained, well-mannered & obedient dog! It is up to you to complete the job we have started. You are responsible for the further development of the puppy’s personality, through guidance, training, structured rules & love!

Our puppies have healthy, happy & good-natured parents. They are reared in the home in a loving, stimulating, clean & caring environment. They are wormed fortnightly & are always given a full health check-up by our Vet, vaccinated & micro-chipped (chip registered in the new owner's name) before leaving us for their new homes.

Puppies are supplied with Five Generation Pedigrees, Kennel Club Registration documents (endorsed), micro-chip certificate (in the new owners name), vaccination certificate, health declaration, 12 weeks free insurance, contract of sale & a comprehensive care pack consisting of: 1 months supply of food, a puppy gift pack of toys/treats and an "owners manual" containing a diet sheet & just about everything you need to know about caring for a new puppy/dog.

We have a lifetime commitment to our puppies & we will always provide full "after-sales" advice & support and we will take back any of our pups/dogs should they find themselves in need of a new home whatever the circumstances might be (& however old they are!).
