Not a spectacular entry in terms of numbers today, the show calendar this year meant that it was Rotherham Cocker yesterday and it's Solid Colour Cocker today (here in Coventry!) and entries were bound to be affected. However regardless of the size of the entry it is always a privilege to judge. Thank you to the exhibitors for their entry and to the committee for the invitation.

PHOTOS CRITIQUES

1st Quintavia Lacey

10 mth old chocolate roan bitch. Eye catching and outgoing puppy who was clearly born to show! Feminine balanced head with good chiselling, lovely dark eye with soft expression. Correct length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Straight front and well boned legs with tight feet. Deep chest, short compact body with excellent spring of rib. Wide quarters and thigh with good rear angulation. Moved true with great animation and correct reach and lots of drive. Held her topline on the move and never stopped wagging her tail. In good coat and condition. Such a super girl couldn’t deny her Best of Breed. Best Puppy, Best of Breed and Puppy Group 3. Congratulations.

1st Ferrersedge Clear Cut

Balanced 13 mth old orange roan bitch. Feminine head with gentle expression and dark eye. Correct length of neck, well placed shoulders, good return of upper forearm, straight front, tight feet, deep body with plenty of forechest. Correct ribs and, short loin. Correct tail set and held her topline on the move. Moved correctly and with style and an ever-wagging tail. Close decision between 1st and second. RBOB

2nd Dawnglow Golden Charm

Super 17 mth old orange roan bitch. Lots to like, beautiful head and expression, lovely length of neck, fine shoulders, good bone, deep body, good ribs, short and compact body. Good width of thigh and rear end, well angulated. Lovely coat and condition. Moved soundly but unfortunately not a happy girl today.

1st Ferrersedge Cut The Mustard

13 mth old orange roan dog. Litter brother to Junior winner, both very similar in make and type. Beautiful balanced masculine head, soft and gentle expression. Ample bone, tight feet, good rib and body. Moved well and with a none stop wagging tail. In the challenge, felt littermate had the edge with front angulation and shoulder placement.
