Thank you for the lovely entry.  A good entry considering East Anglia Cocker Club held their show locally on the same day.  All dogs were well presented, happy and many were of similar type.  Many decisions were "splitting hairs".

The critiques were sent to Dog World & Our Dogs on the 23rd April.

Pontisbright Miss Happy

Wizzmill Goneandunit

1^st -  Smith’s Pontisbright Miss Happy

7 months old gold bitch. Happy by name, happy by nature!  Balanced feminine head, tight dark eye, gentle expression. Correct length of neck, fine shoulders, straight front with good forehand construction, deep chest and well sprung ribs, short coupled, correct rear assembly, tight feet. Just a baby & not the biggest of girls but so Cockery! Moved soundly, with good reach & drive, keeping a level topline. Best Puppy

2^nd -  Grimble’s  Wizzmill Goneandunit

 9 months old blue roan bitch.  Compact bitch with lots to like. Balanced head, sweet expression. Correct  construction, big ribs, short loin, wide rear.  Moved well & with enthusiasm. Carrying a little extra weight and topline paid the price. 

Pontisbright Star Finder

1^st - Smith’s Pontisbright Star Finder

9 month old blue roan dog.  Very cockery youngster with balanced head, kind expression. Straight front, tight feet, correct shoulders, length of neck in keeping with short compact body. Deep chest, ample bone, well sprung ribs, short loin, and well angulated fore and aft.  Wide rear, good tail carriage.  Moved with purpose & drive although front needs to tighten. Close decision for BP.

2^{nd -} Wizzmill Never Walk Alone

11 month old blue dog. Good make and type. Built along bigger lines than 1^st placed dog.  Balanced head, gentle expression.  Straight front, correct neck, correct angulation, well sprung ribs, powerful wide quarters.  Moved soundly, keeping a level topline.

Philford Thomas The Tank at Langrawi

1^st - Rundle’s Philford Thomas The Tank at Langrawi

2 yr old smart blue roan dog. Well presented and very happy. Balanced head, kind expression, straight front, tight feet, correct shoulders although would prefer more layback, acceptable angulation fore and aft, deep body, correct ribs and loin, ample width of thigh, slightly longer rear pasterns.  Moved correctly with purpose and drive.

Tojamatt Achilles with Harbethol

1^st -   Clarke’s Tojamatt Achilles with Harbethol

3 year old black male. Masculine, balanced head, melting expression, tight dark eye, correct length of neck, fine shoulders, straight front, correct forehand, deep chest and body, well sprung rib, short coupled, correct rear assembly. Wide quarters, good thigh, lots of substance, short rear pasterns. Correct tail set although a little proud of tail. Animated on the move with good reach and drive & level topline.  BOB

2^nd -  Odgers’s Rozanko Brown Sugar

3 ½ year old chocolate roan male. Lots to like.  Balanced head, with dark tight eyes, excellent pigmentation. Ample neck, correct shoulder width, would prefer more layback &  upper forearm, deep chest, well sprung ribs, short loin, good width of thigh.  Moved happily with drive but slight tendency to weave. Well presented.

1^st -   Reed’s Reemif From Bramble Thorns

10 year old orange roan bitch in excellent condition who showed the youngsters that age is no barrier.  Feminine head with gentle expression, excellent teeth/dentition. Correct neck, shoulders, correct return of upper forearm, short cobby body, short loin, well angulated rear, wide quarters.  Moved correctly with enthusiasm and keeping a level topline. RBOB

2^nd -  Smith’s Lujesa Happy Soul at Pontisbright

2.5 yr old gold male.  Balanced head with beautiful expression.  Good neck & shoulders.  Very square deep bodied dog, short coupled and well angulated.  Very cockery and cobby. Moved well but on the day lacked the reach and drive of 1.
